In verse 17, we read that the “world cannot receive” the Holy Spirit.This shows us that only believers in Jesus, who have become God’s children can receive the Holy Spirit.

The last part of verse 17, tells us that the Holy Spirit “shall be in you.” The disciples didn’t know how to get the Holy Spirit “in” them.

Jesus told them to go to Jerusalem and wait until the holy Spirit would come.

Jesus called the Holy Spirit the “Comforter,” the “Promise of the Father” and the “Power from on high.”
