Sailing HomeVerta Giddings Lighthouses on the Shore: continued How can we be lights to others? John 21:1-11. After Jesus raised from the dead, He was on earth for 40 days. He showed Himself to the disciples many times. Remember Jesus had called the fishermen away from their nets and told them He would make them fishers of men. They didn’t know what to do now that He was no longer here to actually walk with them. One day they decided to go fishing. Guess what? They caught no fish. Jesus stood on the shore. He had them admit they had caught nothing. When they obeyed Jesus and cast their net on the right side of the ship, they ended up with lots of fish -153 in fact. They ate the food Jesus had prepared for them. Jesus even ate with them. Then Jesus talked with them about the spiritual work He had for them to do. He spoke to Peter and the rest could benefit. First Jesus wanted to know If Peter really loved Him. He asked him 3 times. Each time, Jesus told him to feed people. Jesus called folks His sheep and His lambs. After all, Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and He wanted Peter and the others to be like a shepherd to His people. What would Peter feed them? It would have to be the Word of God - Psalm 119:103. By telling others about Jesus, by giving them the truth about Him in God’s Word, they would be lighting the way for folks to get into heaven. They would be lights along the shore. Are you on the good ship SALVATION? The light is shining today. Jesus is calling. He will reach right down and save you today Acts 16:31. Believe and be saved. Christian - Is you light shining bright? Questions: Lighthouses continued
