What does the Bible say?

by Anita Clark

Lesson 12 - Jesus The Son of God

Who is Christ anyway? That is what we are going to answer in this lesson.

In the Bible, we read about Jesus. We read how He was born and lived, and died, and rose again. If you want to learn about Jesus Christ and how He lived on earth, read the books in the Bible called Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Though Jesus lived on earth, did you know that He has always lived? Remember that Jesus is God, so He is eternal.

In the Old Testament, we read of the Son of God. Proverbs 8:22-31. Read this portion of Scripture over. The person that the Lord, God the Father, “possessed in the beginning,” was the Lord Jesus.

He was there before ever the earth was. Before there was ever any water, or mountains, or hills, or earth, or fields. Jesus Christ the Lord was with the Father in heaven.

Notice verse 30 and 31. “Then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him; and I was daily His delight.” This is speaking of Jesus and His Father. How much God the Father loved the Son and yet, He gave Him to be our Saviour. John 3:16.
