Ready or Not

There was a lot of talk about preparedness last year. Many were preparing for any kind of problem that Y2K might bring with it. There were many books written, and many lectures given on exactly how to prepare for possible disaster.

Some people prepared a lot. They spent much time and money preparing for the absolute worst. Others spent little time, and little effort. Still others spent no time and no effort. All of this was for an event that no one was sure would happen. No one knew exactly what to expect.

There is, however, an event that IS going to happen, and we know what to expect. This event will not require the accumulating of food or water, or even batteries. The required preparation for this event is found only in one book, and is not being greatly publicized on the media today.

I did not write any books or articles on how to prepare for Y2K. I am not an expert in disaster preparedness. I am not an expert in much of anything actually, but I can tell you where to find information to prepare for the soon to occur J2C (Jesus’ 2nd Coming). Please find the book that is probably already in your house, titled The Bible, or The Holy Bible, or just Bible.

As you look into this book, you will find that it accurately describes various parts of history, and much of that was written well in advance of the actual occurrence. One thing that is described that has not yet happened, is the soon return of Jesus for His church. Look at Acts 1:9-11, John 14:1-3, 1 Thes. 4:13-18.

Jesus told His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for them, and that He WOULD return again. Paul tells us very plainly that Jesus is going to come back again. This event is certain to happen, and it could be at any time. We do not know the day or the hour.

Just as Jesus has prepared a place for us, He also wants to prepare us for that place. Eph. 5:25-27. The preparations that we need to do for that great event are very simple. We need to yield to the Lord in every part of our life so that He can prepare us. Any efforts of our own will amount to nothing. We need to read the manual, and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.

The most glorious part of that event is going to be the marriage of the bride to Jesus. If we want to be part of that bride, we must allow some preparations to be done in our lives. She will be adorned, and wearing a beautiful wedding gown. That gown is prepared by the Holy Spirit as we yield our lives to His control.

So, if you think that preparing for Y2K was important, remember that preparing for J2C (Jesus’ 2nd Coming), is of the utmost importance. There will be no more chance after He comes, and the preparations made now will make an eternal difference. Please read the manual (Bible). It was written under the inspiration of the only expert, and will give you all you need to know. Remember to pray before you read so that the expert (Holy Spirit), will help you to understand and learn what you need each day.
