The Last Days

Anita Clark

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads, and ten horns, ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy...And the dragon (Satan) gave him his power and his seat (throne) and authority; and all the world wondered after the beast...and they worshipped the beast...and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and nations.” Revelation 13:1-10

There are many references in the book of Revelation about the “beast” or Antichrist. The above scripture records only a small amount of all the information that is recorded in the Word of God about him and his kingdom. God will allow him to have power over the earth for 42 months (Rev. 13:5) or 3 1/2 years during the Tribulation. His kingdom will be a world wide dominion. Rev. 13:16-18 tells us that he will demand that all receive a mark on their hand or forehead in order to buy or sell anything. Truly, when the Antichrist is revealed during the tribulation as the ruler of the world, it will be a terrible time. God will be raining down judgment on the earth such as has never been experienced before.

We know that the prophecies will be fulfilled. We are very near the time of seven years of tribulation foretold in the Scripture, but before that the rapture of the overcomers. This is why we get so excited when we see events unfold in the earth fulfilling Bible prophecy.

This month my heart is stirred up anew to watch and wait for the soon return of Christ. The events happening make my heart sing with hope that very soon Christ will come and translate us into His presence. It cannot happen too soon.

UN MILLENNIUM SUMMIT - September 6, 2000 marks the date for a special gathering of all nations to the United Nations in New York. The theme will be “One World Government.” An agenda has been set for this meeting which states that the goal is to bring the nations into unity, and includes statements such as ...”A common vision...human centered...justice for all...universal democracy showing tolerance of diversity.” It also includes statements such as “Poverty is a violation of human rights and must be abolished.” You do realize that complete control over poverty will only be accomplished for all the world by complete world government control such as the Antichrist will exercise. The Scripture warns it will come. You can read more about this summit by looking on the internet for UN Millennium Summit. You will be amazed at some of the statements about unity, globalization, and world control.

Just previous to this meeting, on August 28-31, 2000, there will be a World Peace Summit of Religious leaders. At previous meetings all religions were welcomed such as Hindu, Buddhism, Christians (so called), and others including Satanists. The message of tolerance and compromise for peaceful co-existence of all religious bodies is stressed even stating that “...as long as you believe in a higher power,” that is all that matters. In 1993 the World Parliament of Religious leaders was formed. Their aim is to have a one world religion.

Another aspect of global unity is along the lines of environmental concerns for “ecological integrity.” In March 2000 leaders including Gorbachev and Gore met and drew up a document called the Earth Charter Document. Phrases in this document state, we are “...joined to bring forth a global society, a culture of peace, with respect for diversity.” There is further mention of such things as “...one human family, and globalization.” These environmentalists will also be at the UN Millennium Summit in September.

NO PEACE - The peace talks between Palestinian’s Arafat and Israel’s Barak folded without any agreement. Who will own Jerusalem was the sticking point. Prime Minister Barak is quoted in ISRAEL ALERT:WEEKLY NEWS BULLETIN as saying “Although Israel respects the importance of the Muslim holy sites and is willing to acknowledge a Muslim authority there, sovereignty cannot be given away, as this is the site of our Temple.”

President Clinton says that he plans to reward Baraks’s behavior at Camp David by reviewing and upgrading US-Israel bilateral and strategic cooperation. He also said that he was considering moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, stating that the USA has a designated site there. The USA Congress approved this move by a huge majority quite awhile ago. President Clinton has been delaying it, stating “reasons of national security.” This move will sanction Israel’s claim that Jerusalem is its eternal capital, but the terrorist organization Hamas has warned that if this happens, American Interests in Arab countries would be in jeopardy.

A German embassy Official told the Jerusalem Post that a final Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement will likely result in a joint EU decision to move all their embassies to Jerusalem. This is a interesting development, in view of the verses in the Bible (Dan.11:45) which speak of how the Antichrist will “Plant His palace” in Jerusalem. He will do this during the time of tribulation.

Zechariah 12:3 says, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

President Clinton warns the Palestinians that they should not go ahead with plans to announce their statehood without the agreement with Israel. He is trying to convince the European Union to not support the Palestinians in this matter. Hints have been made of punitive measures against the Palestinians if they persist in announcing statehood at this time.

All these events are pointing ever steadily to the soon return of Christ, and the beginning of the most horrible seven years in human history. It will be ushered in with the covenant mentioned in Daniel 9:27. Prophetically, Israel is a key nation. So many of the prophecies refer to it.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:42, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

We cry, “Come Lord Jesus, Come.”
