Our Life, Our Lord’s Work ShopNo Man Is An Island “For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord and whether we die, we die unto the Lord, whether we live therefore, or die we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died and rose and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” Rom. 14:7-9. What a comforting shield! “WE ARE THE LORD’S” “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and you are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I Cor. 6:19,20. “For the love of Christ constrains us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” II Cor. 5:14,15. As our creator He has legal rights to our lives, as our Redeemer he has logical rights, yet we are beseeched by the mercies of God to present our bodies as living sacrifices, which is our reasonable service. But He especially desires that we give him loving rights. Our lives in God’s plan are intended to bless, be beneficial, have a good godly influence on others, even following generations. Ps. 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” In Rev. 14:13 we read, “...Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord...” James asked, What is your life? Then states, it is even a vapor, expressing temporary existence, vanishing. But the work of the Lord builds into our lives real and lasting substance! When we by faith turn our lives over to him. Read I Cor. 4:6-11,16-18; 5:1-10. Our lives, our bodies, are spoken of as, the house where Jesus came to live. We are his workmanship, masterpiece, Eph. 2:10. Phil. 1:6 - a good work has begun. Phil. 2:13 - continues, progresses as we yield unto his good pleasure. Phil. 3:20,21 - It will be soon consummated! Now to be manifested, and to be magnified. by J. D.
