I AM
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:25,26
The "I AM" has spoken and is now speaking. What a powerful assuring statement! Let all them that hath an ear listen intently to His Word. He who speaks with definite assurance to any that are uncertain and questioning. What He says expresses far more than I hope to be, wish to be, or maybe one day possibly could be, but there comes this sweet resounding, "I AM" from The Self Existent One.
He says this even after thousands have died and tombs sealed, there comes the wondrous reversal changing the course of nature, over ruling it's saddening trend. He who is the life, the glorious victor over death. He already had exercised authority again and again over the powers of death as he passed this earth-bound way.
Shall not Life take precedence over death? From God's
breath man became a living soul. O but then came the
horrifying march into the dust. Oh what a grievous order of doom,
to those touched by death and in the tomb. But thanks be
unto God! Thank God! He is also the resurrection and the life.
He illustrated it over and over, even before going to the tomb.
Jesus also has to remind us of His comforting words. "Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God. SO MUCH of the glory of God we fail to see because we fail to look with eyes of faith. He who is indeed the resurrection is quite the opposite of death. And as the life, he gloriously put death in its place. We who must go by the way of the grave may assuredly go with blessed confidence in our great conqueror of death.
He will soon call us forth bodily from the grave to be
joined with soul and spirit. Seeing God's glory, having received
His giving undeniable proof that Jesus Christ was and is indeed
the resurrection and the life, the great I AM has spoken even
before being laid in the tomb or coming forth triumphantly. |
